Ithaca SUP yoga was founded by Veronica Ribot-Canales, a 4-time diving Olympian. A native of Argentina, Veronica had a successful 17 year long international career. She has more than 20 years of experience as a recognized coach, including youth programs and Collegiate at the Division 1 Ivy league level.
Although her practice of yoga was initially used as a refuge for the purpose of self reflection, meditation and healing, she did not think of yoga as her true source of an exercise medium. As she continued to be competitive at various different activities, Veronica discovered her love for Stand up paddle boarding, and began racing in 2013. Training at the elite level for many years brought with it the natural athletic injuries that are par for the course. This combined with her love for being out on the water made stand up paddle board yoga a no brainer. Veronica discovered fitness and serenity on a new board, a stand up paddle board. And so, Ithaca SUP Yoga was born.
